I’ll priorities road projects in Ningo-Prampram — Sam George

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram in the Greater Accra Region, Samuel Nartey George, has promised to prioritize the construction and completion of major roads in the constituency.

He said he was looking forward to the major development agenda for the constituency under President John Mahama and himself as MP for the next four years.

He said he lobbied and got a contract signed under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for the Old Ningo to Mangotsonaa road and then the Afienya to Dawhenya road but no funds have been released to start these projects.

Mr George said he would lobby for the release of funds to start these projects as well as for the resumption of work on the Prampram to Kpone and Old Ningo to Tsopoli roads. Election Result

The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared him the winner of the Ningo-Prampram parliamentary election. Mr George, the incumbent Ningo Prampram MP, retained his seat after polling 44,934 votes, beating his main rival Micheal Tetteh-Eku of the NPP who polled 12,182 votes. Two independent candidates, Fredrick forzie and Evans Tetteh Nortey, had 275 and 1,404 votes.

The district elections were generally peaceful. However, the participation rate was low. The district had 206 polling stations and 104,044 registered voters. However, the total votes was 59.308, while 513 were rejected. Rating

Mr George expressed his appreciation for the trust reposed in him by the voters and pledged to work with them under the new administration of John Mahama to ensure that the people of Ningo-Prampram receive the benefits of the Women’s Development Bank, the National Apprenticeship Programme and the various programmes that the new President has put in place.

He said the NDC would also use its majority faction in Parliament to work in the interest of the people, adding that the new NDC government would abolish the E-Levy and the gambling tax within its first 120 days in office.

He said the majority of seats secured by the NDC would be used to work tirelessly in the 9th Parliament to promote the interests of Ghanaians.

“The NDC supermajority will not be like the NPP that cheated Ghanaians and stole money, but we will ensure that Ghanaians have the better life they deserve,” he said.
